Residence & citizenship

Ireland Naturalisation calculator

Irish naturalisation includes a final-year continuous-residence test with an ordinary 70-day permitted number of days abroad.

How this count works

Departure and return dates do not count; missing trips are not inferred.

The ordinary 70-day limit concerns only the final-year absence requirement. The government may consider up to 30 additional days for exceptional circumstances. Earlier reckonable residence, lawful immigration status and the other naturalisation conditions must also be checked.
