How this count works
For each recorded absence, the reminder date is the departure date plus six calendar months. The numerical absence total excludes departure and return dates. This counter shows the recorded absence whose reminder date is nearest.
For temporary residence permits, Article 85 describes possible cancellation without acceptable reasons after six consecutive months or eight nonconsecutive months during the validity of the permit. Permanent permits instead use 24 consecutive months or 30 nonconsecutive months in three years. Justified absences and special provisions can differ.
